Second Post

Ok, here's a proper (yet, still, quite boring) post. I'm at work at Aquarius right now, making this blog, which is exciting (for me), but soon I'll be heading out tonight to see some bands... gonna go see Pearls & Brass around the corner at 12 Galaxies, they're a Creamy power trio from Pennsylvania whose new album I reviewed on the most recent AQ list. So I want to check 'em out live. They're playing with The Champs and Boyjazz, whom I also like. Maybe somehow I'll also make it over to what used to be the 6th St. Rendezvous to see Ludicra playing with Jarboe. Not that I really want to see Jarboe that much but Ludicra/Hammers Of Misfortune/ex-Slough Feg guitarist John Cobbett is in her touring band now. So I'm curious. Perhaps I'll be reporting on one or more of these shows in my next post. Who knows, who cares? ... on second thought [the next day, as I test out the post-editing (post-post-editing?) feature, I don't have much to report. I went to the Champs/P&B/Boyjazz show only, and missed Boyjazz unfortunately. P&B were good, definitely a weird mix of '60s blues rock and Champsy math-rock. They came by the store today 'cause I asked 'em to bring some of their first cd in. Real nice guys. I asked 'em if they'd played any shows with Stinking Lizaveta ('cause they live in Philly now) and they had, I can imagine that would have been a good match-up. The Champs were good too, as always. "Extra Man" was especially fine. I hung out with Josh and some other friends and then rode my bike home in the the suddenly chilly (for such a warm day) 1am darkness.
