Some Really Important News

Logging in to my Yahoo email account just now, I couldn't help but notice the selection of four "news" items they put on their front page. Item number one: "Horse Goes For A Drive: Meet A Steed Who Loves To Cruise In A Car And Eat A Burger". Wow, that horse sounds just like a reguar guy, the kind of guy you'd like sit down and talk about sports with over a beer. Item number two: "Avoid Using Credit Cards To Pay Your Expenses". Ok, good advice. Item number three: "Study: Earth's Resources Could Run Out Soon". Eh, whatever. Item number four: "Cruise And Holmes Set Wedding Date". Did they? Now you've got my interest. Tomkat are even more fascinating than that horse I heard about just now. Huh, wait, just a sec, let's go back to item number three...

Heavy Metal Rules, Real Audio style

Ever wanted to hear Heavy Load? Overdrive? Rogue Male? Midas Touch? Nightime Flyer? Airwolf? Dark Quarterer? Legend (U.S.)? Now you can, without a massive eBay spree (or a visit to Rob Preston's house). Go to Vibrations Of Doom e-zine's Classic Albums page, fire up your RealPlayer (there's a link you can download that app from if you don't have it), and you can finally hear the original version of "Heavy Metal Rules" by Nighttime Flyer, along with hundreds of other obscure metal tunes -- good, bad, and ugly -- digitized from the original vinyl sources. Seriously, it's a pretty astounding selection. No Dogs With Jobs, though. And though the idea is that all this stuff is supposedly out of print, that's not always the case -- for instance, we've got Witchfinder General on cd in stock at Aquarius right now.
